With The Best Beaches And Accommodation In Florida The Only Draw Back Is Choosing

By James Harden

Beaches are more than likely the most adored places to go to for a vacation. Individuals choose the beach over the other categories of holidays mainly due to the calm scenery along with the exploits which the beach offers. Coastal trips are increasing in their reputation and there are so many beaches to explore in the planet, so it's possible to understand why so many depend upon their beachfront dwellings.

Consider the example of Florida. One can find many Florida accommodation options and beaches to go to upon the coast of the Sunshine State and the only factor which categorizes them from one another are points of interest. Daytona Beach is renowned for its racing events, wild Spring Breaks, plus biker bars. It has a wide array of eateries to choose from and they actually permit driving upon the beach.

Cocoa Beach in Florida, by Cape Canaveral, is visited by less tourists, which facilitates more activities to be enjoyed. Take a football and a kite, and you'll feel that you are at liberty to indulge in the breeze plus the water free from the mayhem. It's a wonderful spot for a family outing plus there are constantly shells to be found as you stroll along the shore.

If you are looking for something a little more exotic, contemplate a coastal hire in Jamaica. Jamaica is an incredibly popular destination for beachgoers because it has a lot of entertainment and exhilarating exploits to try. Montego Bay and Negril provide the finest accommodations and the most beautiful exotic sands you could ever lay eyes on.

You'll be able to swim with the dolphins or sea turtles, climb up a waterfall at Dunn's River Beach the point which the Caribbean Sea collides with Dunn's River, paddle in a natural whirlpool, and to finish the night go dancing within one of the sandbars. Jamaica will certainly ensure an amazing trip, particularly if you love beach vacations.

Cancun is also another trendy location for beach rentals. It boasts something for every individual to indulge in. One can go scuba diving, horse back riding upon the beach, take a ride within a submarine, or try your hand at deep sea fishing or simply pass the time with a metal detector trying to discover a secret treasure.

For the adventurers and adrenaline junkies you can jump off a cliff into a deep, secluded lake. The things to do are endless. The beach is not the only thing Cancun has under its sleeve. You can also go on a jungle tour and swing on a vine Tarzan style and take a ride on the lazy river and witness the stalagmites that hang over head. Cancun boasts an endless list of activities and adventures that you are guaranteed to have a memorable adventure here.

In regards to beach breaks and beach rental accommodations it's impossible to run dry of things to do and see. There is much nature and magnificence out there that it will no doubt make for a wonderful trip. If you are the type who prefers basking in the sun or the nightlife, you are in luck, since a beach rental, particularly Florida vacation rentals, can guarantee everything mentioned. Whether it is simply you and a group of friends or a family gathering, it's impossible to be bored on a beach or run out of new things to try.

By Jake Stevens

Are you planning a trip to Cancun? It's a fabulous holiday location with plenty of interesting things to see and do. We've made a list of tips to help you on your way if you're planning a trip to this fabulous Mexican city.

Summer is the best time to visit if you're with family. This way you'll miss the Spring break crowds that flock here every year, as well as being able to enjoy the best of the weather. We would still advise that you book things like accommodation, tickets for entertainment and car hire well in advance however, to ensure that you don't miss out on anything.

Getting around Cancun is easy as long as you are prepared and know what to expect. Hiring a car is one of the more convenient way to do things, you'll have a permanent travel option and won't be confined to travel schedules and departure times, meaning you can take off whenever you fancy and explore this fabulous location. For those whom this isn't possible, buses are a cheap and easy way to get around. Cancun has a modern public transport system so you shouldn't be waiting around too much for your next bus. Taxis are relatively cheap and plentiful. In operation 24 hours a day, they are extremely practical; just remember to tip your driver!

For those who are interested in shopping, there are a number of shops and malls along the hotel zone. Cancun offers a vast selection of world-class culinary options to please even the most demanding palates. Under no circumstances should you drink tap water and it is wise to stick to the bottled variety. Tipping is common in Cancun and the average tips for waiters and servers are about 10-15%, depending on the service. Phone calls from hotels can be very expensive. The Must See Mayan Ruins Of Cancun

By Robert Nickel

Cancun is located on the Yukatan Peninsula of Mexico that juts out into the Caribbean Sea. It is an area known to have remnants of a rich Mayan culture that once ruled this part of the world. Throughout the area, there are ancient temple ruins. Some have been cleared of vegetation and incorporated into giant theme parks. Others retain some of their nostalgia as they remain hidden in overgrown jungle areas. Many of the ruins are within easy driving distance of Cancun. You can arrange for a day excursion from the local tourist office near your Cancun hotels to visit one or several of the sites. To help you decide on which of the ruins to visit, here's a brief description of some of the top sites and why they are worth visiting.

Fun-Filled Xcaret Park

Xcaret is a giant ecological theme park that has been built around the site of the Xcaret ruins. The park seeks to give visitors some valuable insight into the ancient Mayan culture and way of life. A guided tour includes visiting the temple ruins and ancient mine. Special archeological or ecological tours can be arranged. The culture is brought to life in the Mayan Village where people dressed in period costumes go about their daily village tasks. A highlight of the tour to Xcaret is the cultural show that takes place at night. You can watch as actors play out the Most Ancestral Mayan Ball Game. In addition to the cultural sites, there are also incredible natural wonders to explore at Xcaret. Visit the butterfly pavilion on Deer Island. See colorful birds and parrots in the trees as you walk the ancient jungle paths. You can also visit Puma and Jaguar Islands. There is an impressive orchid garden and mushroom farm with many different kinds of mushrooms. To get a good overview of the area, you can go up the rotational scenic tower and enjoy the view.

Wonders of Chichen Itza

The Chichen Itza is probably one of the best preserved and most impressive of the Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is located in the interior just to the southeast of Merida and requires a few hours to transfer there and back. If visiting the site from Cancun, it is likely to be a full-day excursion. The biggest draw to Chichen Itza is the Kukulkan Pyramid which is known as Il Castillo. In 2007, this impressive and largely intact pyramid was voted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The pyramid is not Chichen Itza's only attraction. The Great Ball Court is 545 feet long and 255 feet wide with incredible acoustics. The secret of the design has never quite been fathomed.

The Tzompantli is an ancient Aztec wall of skulls. These are found throughout ancient Mayan sites. The structure at Chichen Itza is believed to house the skulls of sacrificial victims and one of three walls of its kind in the complex. The Platform of the Jaguars and Eagles is a structure depicting the legendary Mayan warriors. The Eagle Knights were the archers that attacked first, shooting their arrows far ahead into the enemy ranks. The Jaguar Knights were the soldiers that fought in hand-to-hand combat using clubs and knives. There are two Venus platforms at Chichen Itza and both are presumed to have been used for sacrificial ceremonies and rituals. There are several smaller temple buildings located within the complex which had their own unique functions.

Coastal Ruins at Tulum

Located south of Cancun is the bustling town of Tulum. It is also home to one of the few coastal Mayan ruins on the Yucatan Peninsula. Tulum was once a walled Mayan city which served as a major port for Coba. Today, the ancient temple ruins remain on the cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Like many other Mayan ruins, the temple has elaborate carvings and reliefs that led to the belief that Tulum was an important place of worship for the diving or descending god. Because of its location, it is presumed that Tulum was an important trading port and defensive city. It was protected on the seaward side by steep cliffs and on the landward side by a massive wall stretching almost 400 meters. In places, it was eight meters thick and averaged between three and five meters tall. Due to its unique wall structure and the fact that many of the relics are well preserved, Tulum is one of the most popular Mayan sites to visit. - 26707

Cancun is a coastal city in Mexico's easternmost state, Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula. It is located on the Yucatan Channel that separates Mexico from the island of Cuba. The region is sometimes known as the Mexican Caribbean. Cancun is a world-renowned tourist resort. The city centre is located on the mainland which connects to a narrow 7-shaped island where the modern beachfront hotels are located. The meaning of its name is unknown for sure, but if it is connected to the Mayan inhabitants then its possible translation is "Throne of the Snake." As one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, Cancun features year-round tropical temperatures and some of the world's finest and most exotic hotels. A notable feature is the adult-only hotels that suit the needs of adventurous and romantic individuals specifically seeking more than your average family vacation.

Activities run day and night, with games, shows and a one-way shuttle to a different nightclub every night. The friendliness of the staff is legendary. Temptation Cancun is not a "swinger's hotel". Each of these resorts has fully developed web-sites and travel reviews are also available on-line. Picking the right hotel for you may be a matter of deciding whether it is comfort and convenience you are after or excitement and adventure, adult-style. There are many options to choose from and these examples describe most of the features available, but there are sure to be a few surprises left to be uncovered. - 26707

Extreme Adventures In Mexico

By Jesse Henson

Mexico is most well known for its beautiful beaches. The glitzy resorts of Cancun and Cozumel offer a wide range of sporting activities. Extreme adventurers though tend to prefer travelling to lesser known places, avoiding the crowds and getting to experience the countries natural treasures while partaking in their favorite adventure sport. Mexico has some fantastic adventure destinations where you can enjoy a variety of activities. Here's a brief outline of some of the places and activities on offer:

Rock Climbing

El Protrero Chico is a craggy limestone outcrop located just northwest of Monterrey. It'll take about an hour to drive there by road and at the base of the crag is a climbers' lodge and campsite where you can settle in for your stay. There are more than 600 bolted sport routes of varying grades. The advantage of this is that the routes are seldom crowded. As a local sport, rock climbing has not really taken off yet in Mexico and most of the climbers visiting El Protreto Chico are from the U.S., Canada and Europe. The limestone rocks provide an interesting assortment of spires, crags and ridges. Because the routes are bolted, beginner climbers can have as much fun as more advanced climbers. There are routes to challenge all levels and abilities of climbers. The friendly atmosphere at the lodge means that after a day of hard climbing you can chill and mingle with the other visitors to the crags.

Hiking and Canyoneering

Hiking is sometimes thought of as a more sedate sport; however, with the wild and challenging terrain in some parts of Mexico it can easily be classified as an extreme adventure sport, especially when it is combined with canyoneering. The Barranca del Cobre, or Copper Canyon as it is more commonly known, is one of the largest and deepest canyon systems in the world. The unusual rock formations, stunning vistas and extreme temperatures make this a premiere adventure sport destination. Exciting hiking and canyoneering tours can be booked through professional operators.

Visiting the Mayan ruins is an opportunity to hike through some of Mexico's most beautiful rainforest reserves. Guided tours provide history on the special cultural sites and en route you can see a wide variety of birds and other forest creatures.

Oaxaca is another area known for its spectacular hiking routes. The Northern Sierra Mountains are reputed to be one of the most well preserved natural regions in Mexico. The trails traverse through rainforests and take in spectacular views. Rapelling is also offered and makes a nice addition to any hiking trip to the area.

Mountain Biking

If you are looking for some moderate trails, there are some superb routes just inland of the famous Yucatan coastline. Tours range from short day trips to longer multiday trips taking you to explore some of the Mayan ruins and other historical sites and places of interest. For hardcore mountain bikers, the gateway to Mexico's best mountain biking region is the town of Chihuahua. From here, hundreds of miles of trails cross through the Copper Canyon area. Terrain varies from steep rocky ascents and descents to slick Moab-style climbs. Some guides that have worked in the region for more than 10 years say there are still so many unexplored routes. Their biggest problem when planning tours is deciding which routes to go on because there are simply too many to choose from.

Kiteboarding

Kiteboarding is a skill that takes some time to master but once most people have got it right they become hooked. With Mexico's beautiful beaches, it's no wonder that kiteboarders from around the world flock to areas such as Cancun, Merida, Tulum and Isla Blanca. The great surf, good winds and warm tropical water make it a kitesurfer's paradise. Combine that with the vibrant beachfront lifestyle and it's sure to be an awesome vacation.

Whitewater Rafting

There are many fantastic rivers for whitewater rafting in Mexico. You can do a single day or multi-day rafting trip riding the rapids of several rivers and visiting some interesting cultural sites in between. Near Mexico City, there is the Rio Fios with class III rapids; from there, you can move on to Xalapa where you can raft the Rio Antigua and the Rio Actopan which have both class III & IV rapids. The Santa Maria River in the northeastern part of Mexico also offers class III multi-day rafting trips. The river flows through an area known for its natural springs and beautiful waterfalls and the nearby towns have interesting markets well worth visiting. - 26707

Riviera Maya Nature Travel

By Erik Parker

When you think of Mexico, what comes to mind? You might think of the beautiful beaches and oceans or the warm weather and sunshine. While these are distinguishing features of the country, other equally intriguing and unusual attractions can be found in the southernmost part of Mexico in the Mexican Caribbean and the Riviera Maya.

This region of Mexico, steeped in Mayan culture, is known as the Yucatan Peninsula and comprises the Mexican states of Quintana Roo (where Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and the Riviera Maya are located), Campeche, and Yucatan. Teeming with tropical rainforests, jungles, mangroves, wildlife, and surface rivers that lead to the Caribbean Sea, this region also contains thousands of cenotes -- fascinating natural phenomena.

One special place where you can find all these natural wonders is

Tres Ros Nature Park

Named after the three rivers ("tres ros") winding across 326 acres of tropical rainforests, Tres Ros Nature Park http://www.haciendatresrios.com/riviera-maya/nature-park/ is a unique place where you can explore nature in its truest form. Whereas the typical eco theme parks provide commercialized vacation activities, Tres Ros offers travelers a more authentic nature experience without contrived tourist attractions.

At Tres Ros, nature activities include snorkeling and diving in one of ten accessible cenotes (cavernous sinkholes with natural wells), kayaking or swimming through mangrove-lined rivers that lead to the Caribbean Sea, guided nature tours through rainforests or the botanical garden and nursery that subsidizes reforestation, bicycling and hiking through the jungle, or taking a SenseAdventure journey. http://www.haciendatresrios.com/riviera-maya/nature-park/nature-park-activities/

Cenotes & Rivers

Here in the Yucatan Peninsula, naturally occurring wells or holes in the ground are known as cenotes, originally called "dzonot" in Mayan and later evolving into the word "cenote" by Spanish colonists. The captivating cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula and the Riviera Maya evolved from many changes in the earth's geology over thousands of years.

Before natural sea levels declined, the Yucatan Peninsula was once a coral reef in the sea that later died and formed a limestone platform. This thick limestone was gradually eroded by acid rain, developing large cavities or caves with stalactites, stalagmites, and columns. When the polar cap melted after the last ice age, these caves flooded and became underground rivers.

The caves that existed above sea level were only partially flooded by the melting polar cap, and their thin roofs eventually collapsed, resulting in freshwater wells called cenotes. These cenotes were a primary water source for the ancient Mayans who also considered them as sacred sites. Four types of cenotes exist: those that are completely underground, partially underground, at land level like lakes or ponds, and open wells that are below land level. Most cenotes range in depth from 16 to 20 feet (5-15 meters), and the water temperature is a refreshing 77 Fahrenheit (25 Centigrade). The fresh water is typically a clear, aquamarine color containing unusual fish and marine life, which makes them ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.

The best news of all Access to this incredible nature park is an exclusive benefit only for guests of Hacienda Tres Ros Resort. http://www.haciendatresrios.com/riviera-maya/ - 26707

See The Hacienda Tres Rios: Green Travel In Mexico

By Robert Witherspoon

Many people are concerned about their carbon footprint and how their actions impact on the environment. For this reason green travel is the fastest growing type of tourism. There are some great eco resorts around now which mean that we can have it all, luxury travel with minimal environmental impact. In Mexico the Hacienda Tres Rios is a fine example of a high class eco resort.

In the Cancun area there are now many resorts which have brought wealth to the area but also environmental problems. However it is still possible to have a green holiday in the region and know that you are bringing the advantages of tourism without some of the problems.

Resorts should do a number of things to be considered environmentally friendly. These include ensuring that they are not causing pollution, recycling, using sustainable products, using resources carefully and sourcing local products wherever possible. It is also considered good practice to have staff from the local community so that the money raised is benefitting the area.

Good eco resorts are also getting involved with conservation projects to take care of the local flora and fauna. Many work with cultural organizations to take care of important historical and archaeological sites. They may also work with rural or poor communities to improve living standards and create sustainable incomes for the people who live there.

It is a myth that eco travel has only low end budget style accommodation. For example, the Hacienda Tres Rios in the Maya Riviera region is a luxury all inclusive resort with all the facilities you would expect. It was designed and constructed using modern eco technologies to limit the impact on the environment. Since it opened it has won the award for Leading Green Hotel of Mexico and Central America and the Leading All-Inclusive Resort.

Eco travel does not have to mean rough travel. There are plenty of green resorts which are also luxurious. - 26707
